Goblin Valley State Park is weird and we love it

Goblin Valley State Park is a small park located in central Utah, a 3.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Goblin Valley is known for the short hoodoos that cover the ground; hoodoos are those weird looking rock formations. ‘Goblin Valley looks otherworldly. So otherworldly, in fact, that Galaxy Guest was filmed here. This park is an outdoor playground for adults and kids alike. They have a few paved walking paths, but visitors are encouraged to wander off the trail to get up close and personal with the geological goblins.

Cost: $15 per vehicle

Open year round. No holiday closures.

Camping Options

If you want to stay the night among the spires, Goblin Valley State Park has a campground for tents and RVs. The campground has restrooms, water, and showers. For a little taste of glamping, they also have two heated/cooled yurts that are reservable year-round. If you want to stay on BLM land, for free, there is a spot just seven miles north near the Junction of Temple Mountain Road.
